Ski chalets with a swimming pool are popular with clients who have non-skiers as part of their group. Whereas some guests will happily spend all day on the mountain thrashing up and down the pistes there are others that are quite happy to relax in their chalet, soaking up the mountain atmosphere at their own pace.

Most luxury ski chalets now come with the added benefit of spa facilities. Mostly this will mean a hammam or sauna indoors and possibly a hot tub on the terrace. However, there are an increasing number of luxury chalets that also include an indoor or outdoor swimming pool. There are even some that include both!

Swimming pools with swim jet or counter current

Space is always at a premium for luxury chalet developers, especially in the premier ski resorts of the Alps. And given the general low outside air temperatures during winter heating a large swimming pool to acceptable levels also poses a cost vs benefit problem. For these reasons you will often find that your ski chalet swimming pool is actually pretty small but fitted with a swim-jet or counter current exercise system.

No.14 in Verbier is really more of a boutique luxury hotel than a chalet but as it sleeps less than 30 guests (even when full to capacity) it very much has an intimate chalet style feel to it.

For sheer opulence look no further than the simply named Chalet N in Lech, Austria. This magnificent alpine home sits in a commanding location overlooking the village resort of Lech. Apart from an internal garage with space for a fleet of cars there is bullet proof glass for all windows, a cinema and generous spa area with large swimming pool.
