The resort of Les Gets is easily reachable from Geneva with one of the shortest airport transfer times of all the ski resorts in the Alps. In normal conditions a one hour drive from the airport is all it takes. This short transfer time, the large ski area mostly suited to beginner and intermediate skiers and the good value chalets in Les Gets make this a great family ski resort. However, because the resort stretches out along the valley floor road for 3km it is important to choose a chalet that has a good location.

The main ski area, shared with Morzine, is accessed via the Chavannes Express gondola and chairlift but there is a smaller ski area on the other side of the valley which is accessed by the Mont Chery gondola. The ski schools generally meet at the bottom of the Chavannes lifts so being close to the lifts on this side of the valley is the ideal position.

There are two luxury chalets in Les Gets of note: the Ferme de Moudon and also the Chalet Grand Corniche both of which are outstanding alpine homes. They offer guests amazing views and secluded private locations. The lift stations are a few kilometres away but of course these luxury chalets come with a private driver service which means their location away from the resort centre is not an issue.
