Flaine (Morillon)
Small, traditional valley ski village with access to the large Flaine Massif ski area
Morillon resort guide - a general overview
Morillon is a traditional, quiet valley village with a gondola link to its modern ski satellite mini-resort, Morillon 1100. The skiing starts and finishes at this higher, modern resort. If you are staying in the old traditional valley village at 700 metres altitude then you ride the gondola down at the end of the day except during the snowiest of weeks when it's possible to ski back. From the higher, modern base development it is easy to access the main ski area of the Flaine Grand Massif and enjoy all the variety this largely North facing area offers.
We offer some excellent catered chalets in Morillon so do have a look at these.

Flaine (Morillon) Mountain Restaurants
The Grand Massif area is not a top choice for the on-mountain gourmand. However, there are some very reasonable restaurants that serve up a perfectly decent lunch. In the Flaine bowl the Michet near the foot of the gondola serves good savoyard food. The remote Gite du Lac de Gers is one you need to book in advance and ring for the snowcat to tow you up from the Cascades run. Splendid isolation and simple hearty food await. The cosy and rustic Igloo, above Morillon, is friendly and reliable with a big sunny terrace to lap up the sun. L'Beu is also worth a mention, just above the bottom of Sairon chairlift; a small rustic place with only a handful of tables serves fabulous crepes.
