Westendorf resort guide - A general overview
Westendorf is a small, traditional village with many older buildings and excellent nursery slopes. This small but lively village has a lot of Austrian charm and character. Westendorf is separated slightly from the main ski area but frequent buses to the lifts and to neighbouring resorts mean that it is easy to access the whole of the Ski Welt.
There is a good mix of pistes accessible from Westendorf which vary from high open runs to beautiful tree lined lower slopes. There is an extensive network of snow cannons covering 95% of the pisted runs which ensures that a ski holiday to Westendorf will always offer good skiing. The Heldon Bar, Cafe Memory and the Disco Tenne are all popular joints in town and there are many mountain restaurants to choose from, all serving a variety of local dishes.

Restaurants
Westendorf Resort Restaurants
Most of the best restaurants in Westendorf are in hotels such as the Kaiserhof which serves wonderful food and has a great atmosphere. Apart from the very good quality hotel restaurants there is not a huge amount of choice - it's a small town.
Westendorf Mountain Restaurants
There are numerous restaurants around the Westendorf area. Plus there are over 70 mountain restaurants in the larger SkiWelt region. One restaurant, the Choralpe, has been given the title of 'the best views in the SkiWelt' by a reporter. There also is the Ki-West restaurant that offers a great location and food. There are other options too such as Brechhornhaus and Gassnerwirt to name a couple.
Westendorf Apres Ski
Despite being such a small town the apres ski scene is pretty lively. There are a couple of main spots in town such as Liftstuberl and Gerry's Inn. Other recommendations are Kiko's Bar which is near the bottom of the nursery slopes. Underneath the Jakobwirt Hotel, in the basement, there is a cafe bar which sometimes has live music.
Westendorf Nightlife
There isn't a huge amount of nightlife as you would expect in such a small town. However, the apres ski bars stay open late and are particularly lively immediately after the sun sets!
