This high and largely purpose built ski resort rose to prominence during the 1970's when it twice hosted the FIBT World Championship bobsleigh races. The layout of the resort is such that the wide variety of ski hotels in Cervinia give guests easy access both to and from the main ski area which offers 150km of mostly intermediate ski slopes.

At an altitude of 2,050m the town can be rather bleak and cold in the depths of a winter storm but with high altitude comes the advantage of the most snow-sure slopes in the Italian Alps. The resort is perfect for families and those looking to build confidence on skis as the runs are both wide and very long (the longest of which stretches over 22km down to Valtournenche at 1,524m). The long runs coupled with the best quality snow (at high altitude) is what Cervinia is famous for.

These three wonderful hotels take very different approaches to providing luxury ski holidays but they each offer a first class experience.

The Hermitage has for many years been considered as one of the best hotels in the Alps. The atmosphere mixes elegance, old school grandeur and tradition - the roaring open fire in the reception lobby setting the tone. The hotel attracts guests who expect to dress up a little for dinner and the hotel feels 'special'.

For those looking for the best gastronomic experience in Cervinia the Hotel St Hubertus awaits. The candlelit restaurant set within the vaulted dining room complete with fireplace and slate rock walls is as architecturally interesting as its menu.

The modern Principe delle Nevi hotel is set on a plateau above, and overlooking, the resort of Cervinia. On offer are true ski in ski out access as well as accommodation at the cutting edge of cool and contemporary. With indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a Balinese themed spa and wonderful views over the resort this chic property is one of the best luxury hotels in Cervinia.
