Méribel Village should not be confused with Méribel Centre, Méribel Les Allues or Méribel Mottaret, as all four are distinct villages with their own character. Méribel Village came into its own with the opening of the high-speed Golf chairlift, which links the village directly into the Three Valleys ski area and hastransformed it into a ski resort in its own right.

Development in the village has been a blend of old and new. MGM constructed several high-quality self-catered residences, while luxury chalet developers took advantage of lower land prices to build some impressive modern chalets.

Today, Méribel Village offers a quieter alternative to Méribel Centre while still providing excellent access to the ski area. The atmosphere is relaxed, nightlife is limited by Méribel standards, and it is particularly well suited to families and those looking to avoid the busier resort centre.

Guests staying in Méribel Village can access ski school meeting points at the top of the Golf chairlift, which departs directly from the village centre. However, not all ski schools meet here, with some operating exclusively from Chaudanne in Méribel Centre. If you have an early-morning lesson at Chaudanne, there may not be sufficient time to take the Golf chairlift and ski down before lessons begin. In this case, the morning bus to Méribel Chaudanne, which departs Méribel Village at 08:45, is the most reliable option.
