Chalet Alpinum

Chalet Alpinum is a smart redevelopment of an older chalet. It still retains the old-chalet charm on the exterior but the inside has been re-worked into a modern, comfortable property with all en-suite bedrooms and an indoor wellness area (with sauna and hot tub). The views from the sun terraces are good and the nearest ski bus stop is less than 300 metres away.

Chalet Alpinum was added to our portfolio for the 2023-24 winter season and it provides a very comfortable but still good value accommodation option in the St Anton area. The property, which is a modern conversion of an older building, is located in St Jakob which is a small village just 5km away from the centre of St Anton.

The free bus service which connects St Jakob to the main lifts and centre of St Anton is just 270 metres from the chalet which means getting skiing and returning at the end of the day is simple enough.

Being located away from the centre of St Anton means the Chalet Alpinum offers a lot of value for the money. It has a very comfortable sitting room/dining room with modern glass fronted fireplace and access to a large sun terrace. Downstairs on the lower level there is a smart wellness area offering indoor sauna, hot tub and relaxation area.

There are five guest bedrooms each with en-suite bath/shower and wc. One has an extra single sofa bed and another is a quad room enabling the chalet to sleep up to 13 guests as a maximum.

NB: This chalet is operated by a Dutch tour operator, who have been in the catered ski chalet business since 1977, operating 37 ski chalets in France, Austria and Italy.

The main difference between a 'normal' British-run chalet, which you will be familiar with, and the Dutch product is that afternoon tea and cakes are not included. However, house wine, beers, soft drinks, and tea and coffee are available and are included in the cost of your holiday.

Breakfasts will be continental in style with cheese, hams and bread, yogurt and fruit juices, tea and coffee.

Below are examples of typical evening dinners:

Starter: Basil bruschetta with fresh tomato and mozzarella.
Main: Meat loaf with roasted onions, mushrooms and tomatoes, pomme gratin, salad with red onion, cucumber, feta and olives.
Pud: Poached pears with chocolate mousse.

Or

Starter: Giant mushrooms stuffed with bacon and bleu d'Auvergne served with a warm 'Morzinoise' roll.
Main: Braised cod with a mustard cream sauce, mashed potatoes and roasted winter vegetables.
Pud: Warm pear apple crumb pie with ice cream.

Afternoon tea and cakes are not included in the cost of the holiday. If you would like to have afternoon tea and cakes you can pay a small supplement. Please call for details.
