On The Slopes

La Folie Douce - La Folie Douce is something out of the ordinary. Since 1980 the team at Folie Douce have been providing an experience you will not forget. The cabaret lunch starts at 13:00 when the dancers, singers, and performers will whisk you away on a journey that is best described as ‘hedonistic’. By 15:00 the place packed and becomes home to a full-on party until 17:00. Best of all, if you have one too many drinks, the Folie is located next door to the gondola, taking you down to the village.

Cocorico - A personal favourite of ours at Alpine Answers. Cocorico is home to some of the best live bands in the Alpes, well-priced drinks and an atmosphere that is hard to beat. Located at the main lift area, Cocorico is open from 14:00 to 20:00 every day. In the peak of the season, this outdoor bar can become very busy, so we would suggest getting here early (particularly if you want to bag a table to dance on)!

Pre-dinner Drinks

The Blue note - A hidden gem. Situated opposite the ESF Ski School, it is the ideal place for après. Happy hour runs from 15:00 to 18:00 and attracts ski instructors and holidaymakers alike. Lou and Matt have run The Blue Note for years and it is their personalities that make the bar. They serve a variety of wines, beers, spirits etc. but are particularly renowned for their incredible alcoholic hot chocolates and their famous ‘Blue Note' nibbles (homemade hummus, olives and saucisson).

Le Coin des Amis - This tiny bar is a local’s favourite and oozes atmosphere. Located within a minute of the slopes in the centre of town, it is the perfect place to unwind, particularly if the sun is out. The bar itself is small, however, every day a large crowd gathers to enjoy the outside bar and the regular live band. The bar is open from 11:00 to 02:00 am daily.

The Blizzard Hotel Bar - The Blizzard Hotel is a 5 star hotel that lays in the heart of the village, less than 100 metres from the slopes. It is certainly not cheap, but you get what you pay for with fantastic service, luxurious and comfortable décor and a fantastic assortment of drinks. If you are wanting to chill out after a hard days skiing in a bar exuding with charm, this is the place for you.

Live Music in Val d'Isere town

Le Petit Danois - Le Petit Danois prides itself on being Val d’Isere’s no.1 party bar! It is open from 09:30 to 02:00 every day, with live music kicking off late afternoon. Happy hour runs twice in the evening with 2 for 1 on beers and drinks and from 17:00 to 19:00 you will be given a free shot with every drink – what more could you possibly want?

Best nightclubs in Val d'Isere

Doudoune Club - Doudoune is the biggest nightclub in Val d’Isere. Throughout the season it hosts some of the biggest nights in the Alpes, with DJ’s such as BBC Radio One Danny Howards and Roger Sanchez hosting regular events. It is situated under Cocorico Après Bar by the Rond Point and is open from 22:30 onwards. On the 21st of every month, they hold the ‘big Club 21 party’ which is open to all. If you are wanting a big night ‘out-out’ this is the place to go.

Dick's Tea Bar - This iconic venue opened its doors in 1979 and has continued to attract hordes of fun-seeking skiers/boarders ever since. Located up from the main road, opposite the Christina Hotel, Dick's Tea Bar opens its door at 22:30. At 01:00 the bar transforms into a full nightclub, with a large dance floor as well as a VIP section. With an in-house violinist, saxophonist and percussionist, there is no excuse not to dance the night away until 5am.
