Hotel Walliserhof

" It was a lovely hotel with a friendly feel. Many of the hotels in Zermatt are now very stylised and 'trendy', even the one we stayed in last time, the Simi, is now unrecognisable. This one has not (yet) gone the same way, and was very nice for it. The staff were really friendly and helpful at booking restaurants etc. The food was great. The rooms seemed to vary quite a lot, one couple's was rather larger than the other, but I suppose that that is part of its charm. Internet connection useful. No nice 'bathroom smellies' either. It was a typical Swiss 4 star hotel - i.e. it would probably be 3 and a half stars somewhere else. Zermatt has gone much more 'Chic' than even on our last visit in 2005, but it still is pretty and has village charm. And a lovely way to see in New Year in the square, with fireworks and hotels which had set up stalls selling champagne in the street. A good natured crowd. "

" Hotel Walliserhoff staff were fantastic with excellent customer service and level of English. Couldn't have been much better. Only negative comment would be the quality finish of the room's decor which weren't up to the quality finish of the rest of the hotel. Having said that we were given a great chalet room and had superb views over the Matterhorn - spectacular. We couldn't find a holiday to run Monday to Monday, but Alpine Answers was able to help which was great as this was our Honeymoon. "

" We cannot praise the hotel highly enough. It is in a superb central position. It is well laid out, attractive, comfortable and welcoming. The food was excellent, and the manageress and all her staff could not have been more friendly, helpful and welcoming. We love Zermatt and it is hard to fault it. Superb skiing over a wide area, excellent restaurants, and a delightful atmosphere and character in the old Swiss resort. Rhona Warcup (Alpine Answers) was outstanding. We find Alpine Answers reliable and helpful and have often used you in the past. "
