Hotel Butterfly

" The hotel was really good. Comfy, friendly, good food and great service. It also has an excellent location. The only downside is that the bar area is too small to accommodate all of the guests. Zermatt is a great place to ski for advanced and intermediate skiers. It is different to most resorts in that it is more suited to 'safari' skiing than motorway up and down skiing. The marked trails are great. "

" The service from all the staff was first class - friendly and efficient. The rooms were clean and spacious and the beds very comfy. Bathroom was spotless. The bar area was welcoming and the live pianist was a bonus. The food was perfectly OK (although not gourmet) and the five courses welcome after a hard day on the mountain. However, we had ice cream 6 out of the 7 nights for pudding which for some may seem a little unimaginative. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice - yummy bircher muesli. The position was very convenient and also quiet - set back from the main street, close to the Gornergrat station and also the bus stop to access the Klein Matterhorn lift station. The Sunnegga funicular was an easy 6 minute walk away. "
