Overview
The Bella Tola in St Luc is a converted 19th Century residence and is a real find. Immaculately restored by its current owners you really do feel like you are in an alpine time warp. All the historical elements of the decoration have been enhanced, restored or completed so that the spirit of true alpine elegance remains. The communal areas really make you feel at home, so much so that one suspect's guests actually spend more time relaxing in the various lounges and passing the time away rather than hitting the local slopes.
The bedrooms take you back to a forgotten past. Antique furniture, traditional soft furnishings, old master style paintings and collector's items all team up to create a warm and traditional impression. To complement this fine old hotel there is also a modern state of the art spa where water, fire, ice, stone and wood merge with the magnificence of the local scenery and views. The restaurant has a reputation in the valley so we would recommend the half board option or booking early.
Next to the hotel the old Post Office has been restored to provide three delightful little chalet apartments sleeping from 4 to 7 people. These would be ideal for young families.
In the photos what you see is what you get. However, please do keep this hotel a secret as having discovered it on a recent trip we really don't want too many people booking rooms up before we get there ourselves!
The very friendly owners, Anne-Francoise and Claude Buchs, have taken the great ingredients of a wonderful setting and a marvellous old building and turned it into the most welcoming and relaxing bijou hotel. The bedrooms are a mix of modern and traditional, so it's important to let us know which you prefer. Restaurant, lounge area and spa are all just delightful.
