Overview
The Valsana opened December 2017 and offers a chic, modern alpine retreat. Inside the woodland-inspired cladding Aztec embroidery and hand-painted botanical murals interpose with rustic materials such as leather, smoked oak and untreated wood. Industrial finishes in iron and copper add a trendy note, alongside aviator egg chairs and sausage dog benches. The cosy and innovative interior is the work of the Swiss interior designer, Carlo Rampazzi, who also designed the group's other properties.
The hotel boasts 40 rooms and suites as well as 9 one and two bedroom apartments. All are in our opinion of a five-star standard with designer wallpaper, industrial-chic side tables and embroidered armchairs against mink coloured walls and smoked oak parquet flooring. Each feature a balcony. All rooms are ample in size.
Facilities include two indoor tennis courts, a ski shop and and a weekly guest program with free activities. There is also a spa with indoor pool and a well-equipped panoramic gym.
The Swiss generally go for traditional, or uber cool and hip. The Valsana is certainly the latter and won't disappoint.
A striking hotel with eclectic alpine-inspired interiors combined with friendly, yet very professional staff.
