Hotel Au Coeur Des Neiges

" Hotel Au Coeur des Neiges was outstanding. The location is excellent with short walk to tram. The spa/pool facilities were gorgeous. The five bedroom chalet in which we stayed was lovely.nice kitchen facilities (though we only used for breakfast); excellent food in their bistro for breakfast or dinner. Skiing gave limited off-piste opportunities and snow/weather was a bit "iffy". Still - we had a good time and spent the better part of one-day going up the Skyway lift to Punta Hellbrunner on Mont Blanc. Unable to do Vallee Blanche but had some great views. "

" When we had to cancel out of the 6 person chalet, the hotel moved us to a 2 person room. That was OK but I have to say that the room was pretty unsatisfactory. It was tucked under the eaves, which meant that from the time you entered the room, you had to hunch over to avoid hitting your head, except for a narrow path next to the kitchen area and closet. To work in the kitchen, you had to duck your head under a big beam to be able to reach anything or cook on the stove. If you sat up in bed without looking first, you would hit your head. It was impossible to use the tub without precariously climbing in while folded in half. I have travelled extensively and am used to small rooms, but this was exceptionally small and uncomfortable. When I asked management about it, they said that some people really like it because it is cozy. It may be pleasant for those under 5' tall. The facility was lovely, the dining room excellent and the spa really great. Except for the particular room we were given, the stay would have been delightful. "
