Hotel Portetta

The Portetta Hotel in Courchevel Moriond is owned by the British run Lime Wood Group which also owns several luxury boutique hotels and top quality restaurants in the New Forest area, Hampshire, as well as the Pig hotels in the UK. The Portetta Hotel now provides an excellent standard of accommodation, service and cuisine. It was awarded 4 star status in Summer 2010 and is located right at the foot of the home piste in Courchevel Moriond, and as such, has THE best position in resort.

Fire & Ice is one of the coolest apres ski venues around and is also the largest terrace in Courchevel1650. All can unwind in this renowned suntrap overlooking the stunning mountains of the National Park. Masterminded by the team behind Lime Wood, Robin Hutson and David Elton, the design details are both imaginative and typically quirky. From the flaming torch heaters that surround the terrace, to the fire pits with blazing logs, this bar combines the visual impact of both flame and heat with the cool of the mountain. An enormous thick semi-circular wooden bar is the main feature with heated bar stools to ensure your legs stay warm. From here guests can enjoy signature 'ice shots' with apt names such as Green Run and Wipe Out all served from ice glasses made on site. Ski weary bods can defrost their extremities before collapsing onto sun loungers to catch a few late-afternoon alpine rays.

The hotel's 38 spacious bedrooms all offer stunning valley or mountain views, many with balconies overlooking the slopes. The rooms have bath or shower, TV, telephone, hairdryer and mini-bar. There are also six 2 and 3 bedroomed penthouse apartments - The Portetta Lofts. Guests can either self-cater or eat in the hotel's restaurant (for a supplement).
