Overview
Location, location location...The Pointe Isabelle is right in the centre of the resort, so very simply if you want to be where the action is in the lively resort you can't really get better. The local bus stop to get you to the various ski areas in the Chamonix valley is right outside the front door of the hotel.
The hotel has a lovely bar and bistro serving local specialities which is popular with locals and residents alike.
All the rooms have been recently upgraded and the next 12 months will see further work going on as the hotels transforms itself into a smarter and more comfortable hotel.
Part of the upgrade will see a large salon for multiple use for conferences, meetings and cocktails (will be able to accommodate up to 65 people), a gym area, a large ski room, bike storage and 9 indoor parking spaces.
A new wing will open at the back of the existing building and an additional floor will be created on the roof including a sauna, a garden and new rooms with stunning views of the Mont Blanc. The interior design, always led by a Scandinavian designer, will be in the same style as the current concept with a nod to the story of Isabella Straton. With the transformation the hotel will also become more environmentally friendly and changes will include substituting fuel with gas heating and replacing all windows for better thermal/sound insulation and even more comfort.
Who is Isabella Straton? - Isabella Straton was a well-educated and wealthy young lady who left England during the Victorian era to become a pioneering mountaineer in the unexplored French Alps. She challenged the conventions of a traditional and male dominated world.
The location of this hotel is spot on. With an upgrade on all the rooms and further developments in store this is and will be a relatively inexpensive option in Chamonix.
