Overview
The Hotel Schwarzer Adler is one of Kitzbuhel's superior hotels with award winning cuisine. With a new leisure spa of over 1,000 square metres (complete with large indoor pool) this hotel presents a state of the art design with superb facilities. Close to the centre (150m) and convenient for the Hahnenkamm gondola (550m).
Nearly all 88 rooms and suites are furnished in an elegant Tyrolian country style. An exception is the design-suite "Black Spa" that combines modern architecture with local materials like loden. The Junior Suites, Grand Junior Suites and Suites also feature a private sauna, Bang & Olufsen multimedia centre with Flat-TV and DVD player. The new Spa Studios on the fourth floor offer a breath-taking view over the surrounding mountains.
To enjoy the culinary highlights created by Chef Stefan Hofer, the hotel offers two restaurants: The Hotel-Restaurant is the place for the breakfast buffet in the morning and the 4-course-meal in the evening. The restaurant features 3 different wooden parlours: The "Tiroler Stube", the "Hirschenstube" (hunter's parlour) and the "Kitz Stube". If you would like to spend an a la carte gourmet evening, then try the awarded "Neuwirt" restaurant. Half board guests receive a reduction on the half board dinner price in case they decide to enjoy an a la carte dinner at the Neuwirt instead of the 4-course dinner at the hotel's main restaurant.
In 2008 the hotel opened one of the largest roof top pools in the Alps! This wonderful pool has a 360 degrees panorama view over Kitzbuhel's ancient old centre and towards the surrounding mountains. The outdoor pool has an underwater sound system, counter current swimming and massage jets. There is also a lounge with cosy sofas.
Don't let the lack of 5th star fool you - this is THE hotel in Kitzbuhel. Very stylish and very slick; great food and good service. The position is just off the main pedestrian centre so close to all the shops and atmosphere. This hotel is under the same ownership as the 5 star Weisses Rossl (which goes to explain why the Schwarzer Adler has not requested a 5th star). The recipe of great food and service is the same in both hotels but the Schwarzer Adler has urban chic, modernity and HIP style - the Weisses Rossl being much more traditional.
