Chalet La Fenice

Chalet La Fenice (the Phoenix) in Cervinia was completed in 2021 at the end of a 5 year long building project undertaken by its British owners. The original building was once a prestigious mountain retreat, welcoming European royalty who liked to take the mountain airs. After its heyday during the 1930's it was abandoned, fell into disrepair and all but crumbled away entirely. It has now risen once again (hence its name) to become the landmark property in Cervinia that it once was. La Fenice is now one of the finest private ski chalets in the Alps, if not the world. No surprise therefore that it was voted Italy's Best Ski Chalet 2024 in the World Ski Awards.

Its commanding position on a plateau 60 metres in altitude above the main resort means that not only does it have the most amazing views but that it also is the first property in resort to receive morning sunshine, and the last to enjoy the rays of the setting sun. The Chalet La Fenice has 6 lift served floors and offers 14 - 16 guests 1,200 square metres of truly luxurious alpine living.

The owners of the chalet, although keen skiers, are aware that sometimes inclement weather in the Alps prevents skiing. They have therefore ensured guests staying in their chalet have access to a wide range of diversions away from the mountain. The luxury hotel-grade spa features an indoor pool with back massage jet, partial glass bottom and stunning mountain views. The spa area also extends to include indoor a glass fronted sauna, large hammam, massage & treatment room and a steel hot tub on the deck outside. The well-equipped gym includes Wattbike, Gym Gear rower, Jordan free weights and yoga mats, as well as an in-house personal trainer.

The games room includes bespoke Etrusco pool table, table tennis and table football, a large 55 inch HD Smart TV, Oculus Quest VR headset and the latest Xbox with games, a top of the range retro arcade machine and pinball machine.

And if the spa and games room sound too energetic there is the dedicated cinema with 3 metre screen and the latest HD projector, surround sound system and comfortable tiered seating. This facility is connected to Apple TV, Netflix, satellite TV, Xbox Series X, a variety of smart media channels and comes with unlimited snacks and popcorn (of course).

There are three master suites with bath, shower and wc. Two occupy the entire fourth floor and the third is located within the roof on the top floor. There are four further guest bedrooms found on the fifth floor.

A team of 5 hospitality professionals are discreetly on hand to make sure your stay is truly unforgettable. Your chef will create bespoke menus from an international repertoire to suit your taste. A full menu consultation is offered before you arrive to ensure your culinary expectations are met. The Chalet Manager will take care of your stay and they are assisted by hostess, driver and housekeeping staff. All the chalet staff are smartly presented wearing a tailored chalet uniform provided by Rossignol (who also supply the latest in skis and clothing for guests as required). The service style is very much aimed at creating a relaxed alpine home atmosphere rather than one of a starchy 5 star hotel. However, although relaxed the quality of service remains top notch.
