Chalet Topaze

Chalet Topaze in Val d'Isere is situated in a wonderful location known as Les Carats, which is known for offering great views over the Val d'Isere valley and has several new buildings which have gradually been added over the years - giving this private estate a somewhat exclusive feel. Experienced skiers are able to ski right back to the chalet apartment complex, provided you can take on the awesome Face de Bellevarde run which is so notorious in the resort. Alternatively, it is just a 7 minute walk from the centre of Val d'Isere.

This particular residence is home to only 4 apartment chalets, so this property gives the feel of a chalet despite actually being an apartment. Guests staying here can leave their ski equipment in lockers found on the ground floor, where a boot warmer is also provided.

On entering the chalet you will find the first bedroom to your left hand side and the main open plan living/kitchen/dining is to your right. The sitting room includes a couple of lovely sofas and two comfy chairs, so ample seating for a group of 6. The fireplace is very much the focal point of the room, and offers an incredibly cosy atmosphere in the evening when the lights are dimmed and the typical ski chat begins! The front room contains UK Sky TV, a widescreen TV, DVD player and stereo unit, plus free internet access.

The dining room can seat up to 8 people with a bench and several individual chairs placed around a large oak table. The kitchen is open plan, so those who are on cooking duties can easily involve themselves in the rest of the groups chat, something we feel is very important when booking accommodation on a self-catered basis. In the kitchen you will find a full size oven, dishwasher, kettle and toaster. A balcony is accessed off the sitting room end that faces the slopes and offers daily sunshine and magnificent mountain views.

The bedrooms are nicely finished and could be described as cosy, with the first bedroom having a double bed that faces the shower room. This shower room does not have a door so it is very much open plan with a shower, basin, heated towel rail & WC. Wardrobe and drawers provide ample storage.

The second and third bedrooms are both twin rooms, but do come with double duvets in addition to singles if you prefer setting up a double bed. The shared bathroom contains a bath, glass panel, wall mounted shower, basin & WC. A washing machine is also available for clients to use, perfect if you are bringing the kids! An additional WC is off the hallway.

Although this is a relatively small apartment, we feel it is nicely furnished and certainly comfortable, one of the many reasons this is a very popular choice. The location is highly regarded which only adds to the appeal.
