Overview
Chalet Grande Casse in Val d'Isere is a great chalet with access to a (shared) hot tub. This property is fairly newly built and the decor is chic and modern. It is on the ground floor of a three-storey chalet. All of the bedrooms are a good size and have en-suite baths and balconies. The lounge and dining areas are spacious and comfortable and really lend themselves to group bookings. The stone fireplace is a great place to gather with a glass of wine and discuss the day's skiing, and with French windows that open onto a large terrace you can enjoy the mountain views well into the evening.
The chalet changed hands recently and the new owners have removed one of the bedrooms to increase the size of the sitting room. They are also replacing the kitchen as well as managing a refurbishment of the communal areas. The property used to sleep 10 people but now will be extremely comfortable for 8 guests in four bedrooms.
The chalet is situated in a sunny position approximately 7 minutes' walk from the town centre of Val d'Isere. The nearest bus stop is 200 metres away, and the bus service in Val d'Isere is regular and efficient so getting to the slopes or the centre of town is easy.
Chalet Grande Casse is managed by one of our favourite small independent chalet companies. The operator has been working out of Val d'Isere (and the Three Valleys) for over 40 years and this experience is evident in the standard of their holidays. The food and service is fantastic, you really do get the feeling that this experienced small team are truly dedicated to providing superb ski holidays. Unsurprisingly this operator has a very loyal clientele with many retuning guests so if you are keen on any of their properties you will need to move quickly.

This chalet is great for groups. However, it also works well as one to book on split basis and share with others if you feel like being super social. All the bedrooms are spacious and en-suite and there is a shared hot tub. The location is actually not that bad as the local bus stop is only a short walk away - the bus service takes you either to La Daille or to the centre of the resort.
