Chalet Ptarmigan

Chalet apartment Ptarmigan is situated in the very centre of Val d'Isere in a new development that sits above the old Perdrix Blanche restaurant (now the Fondue Factory). Designed by the celebrated local architect, Michel Covarel, (who has done much in recent years to transform the centre of Val d'Isere) the chalet is well appointed and finished to a high standard. The Chalet Ptarmigan is found on the third floor of the Residence du Savoie and has commanding views over the elegant centre of Val d'Isere towards both the Solaise and Bellevarde Mountains. It is reported that if you were to buy property in this development you should expect to pay well north of 30,000 euros per square metre (so about the same as luxury apartments in London's Mayfair). Make no mistake; booking a holiday in the Chalet Ptarmigan is booking into some serious real estate.

There are four bedrooms each with en-suite facilities (3 x shower and 1 x bath & shower), lots of cupboard space and parquet flooring. The bedrooms are not the largest but the bed configuration can still be made up as a two single beds or one king size double. The fourth bedroom does not have an external window so although it too can be configured as a twin or double it can be used as an adult single room.

The third floor living/dining room and balcony offer truly spectacular views across the whole resort and two of the significant local peaks. There is an open log fireplace, lots of comfortable squashy sofas.

The centre of the resort is literally on the doorstep so accessing the shops and bars could not be any easier. Those of you who know Val d'Isere well might be concerned with potential noise from being too centrally located. However, this issue has already been checked on and we are happy to report that the sound proofing from the modern glazing is so good that the only thing you will hear is the crackling of logs on the open fire.

Please note that the use of the sauna is at your own risk (and that of your party members). The chalet company cannot accept responsibility for accidents/injuries that occur during the use of the sauna. Children must be supervised when using the sauna.

Coach transfers between Geneva Airport and Val d'Isere:
Outbound.
The coaches will leave Geneva Airport at 14.00 and also at 16.00. We advise getting a flight at least 90 minutes before your intended coach departure time.

Return.
The coaches will leave Val d'Isère 07.30 and also 10.00. You should allow an approximate transfer time of 3 hours to Geneva Airport from Val d'Isere.

Please note that your flights must land at Geneva Airport 90 minutes before a booked transfer to Val d'Isere. For the return journey please do not book a flight that leaves Geneva Airport before 12:30.
