Chalet Hotel Ecrin

" We were the first week of the season, so obviously still finding their feet but also very intent on delivering quality service. Hotel seemed well managed and gave every indication that the season will run smoothly. The food and catering were both excellent. Overall a great standard hotel for this type of holiday, the benefits of having a pool, sauna and steam room really do help to ease some of the ski fatigue. My partner made use of the spa which was excellent value. Catering was very good, so overall it was a really good holiday. The only minor irritation was that the bar area tended to be on the cold side. This is more due to the design of the area and open staircase from reception and the front door. Not sure that the team could actually do much about this. I have used Alpine Answers for many years now and whether booking for a couple or a large group they have always come up with an excellent series of recommendations. Great advice and at a sensible price. Using Alpine answers is the easy way to narrow down options - just give them a brief and a short time later you will have the best options. "

" The hotel was generally very good. The rooms were quite basic, but comfortable and the bathrooms were of a good standard. The rest of the hotel was better, especially the comfortable bar area and the spa facilities. The food was also generally excellent and we enjoyed our meals. The staff were friendly and happy to help (one of the girls on reception even happily volunteered to lend my girlfriend her own ski goggles one day). The hotel generally was really good and I would even recommend it to other people. Tignes the resort was outstanding - big area. Lots of sunshine. Beautiful views. Long, fun pistes. Even the town looks a little prettier than the last time I was there five years ago. I have booked with Alpine Answers before and have found it a much more pleasant experience than trying to search through various web sites - it definitely takes a lot of the stress away from booking for a group. I have always managed to get a deal we're all happy with and the recommended resorts and hotels have always suited our group. Alex was nice to deal with. He wasn't pushy when I needed to wait on the final members of our group confirming and he always called back when he said he would. "

This year, in the Ecrins (Val Claret) we changed our minds. This was a good quality hotel with good quality and most helpful/ flexible service. "
