Chalet Le Vieux

Le Vieux Chalet in Les Gets is just that. In fact it is over 100 years old and was built long before Les Gets even became a ski resort. In fact it spent the first 90 years of its life in picturesque Gstaad, Switzerland. It was then moved and re-erected in Les Gets in 2001.

The chalet still retains all the original features that make this property so special. It has a traditional fireplace (firewood supplied) and wood panelling throughout. Three of the 16 guest beds are located on the mezzanine and are suitable for children. There are six bedrooms for adult guests or children.

The main lifts are not far away and it is possible to ski back off-piste from the Mont Chery Mountain to the chalet.

NB: This chalet is operated by a Dutch tour operator, who have been in the catered ski chalet business since 1977, operating 37 ski chalets in France, Austria and Italy.

The main difference between a 'normal' British-run chalet, which you will be familiar with, and the Dutch product is that afternoon tea and cakes are not included. However, house wine, beers, soft drinks, and tea and coffee are available and are included in the cost of your holiday.

Breakfasts will be continental in style with cheese, hams and bread, yogurt and fruit juices, tea and coffee.

Below are examples of typical evening dinners:

Starter: Basil bruschetta with fresh tomato and mozzarella.
Main: Meat loaf with roasted onions, mushrooms and tomatoes, pomme gratin, salad with red onion, cucumber, feta and olives.
Pud: Poached pears with chocolate mousse.

Or

Starter: Giant mushrooms stuffed with bacon and bleu d'Auvergne served with a warm 'Morzinoise' roll.
Main: Braised cod with a mustard cream sauce, mashed potatoes and roasted winter vegetables.
Pud: Warm pear apple crumb pie with ice cream.

Afternoon tea and cakes are not included in the cost of the holiday. If you would like to have afternoon tea and cakes you can pay a small supplement. Please call for details.
Resort tax will be required to be paid in resort. (paid by adults only).
