Chalet Alber

" Chalet Alber was very comfortable and close enough to the slopes that the walk each morning served nicely as a warm up for those aching legs. The chalet was fairly large and so there was quite a cross section of people. The chalet staff were friendly and helpful and the food was average to good. "

" We had a brilliant holiday and the chalet was generally great. It's very spacious and the bedrooms and the common areas work well; the walls are very thick and sound insulation is great. Its position is a little out of the main drag area and a 10 min walk to and from slopes is warranted - 1/2hrly buses run reliably and regularly too. Negatives would be that the breakfast is laid out on a side board - which is very congested in the mornings. They chalet staff were very hospitable but Christmas Day was nothing special and there was no special meal (other than a gin sorbet as an additional course - served in a cocktail glass). I felt that we'd missed Christmas (maybe because the Dutch celebrate Xmas Eve?). It just wasn't a day that felt different. There is no facility to leave luggage in the chalet on the day of departure and with various modes and times of transport - (most of our group were leaving around lunch time) assigning a single room to leave luggage in on the day of departure (thus allowing the rest of the chalet to be cleaned) should be a must. Overall we had a wonderful time and would recommend Alpine Answers and the chalet too - but it's not ideal for young families as it's too far away from the lifts/town centre. House wines were pretty good too (not the usual cheap house wines) - we very much appreciated this! "
