Chalet Demlhof

Chalet Demlhof has a fantastic location in the centre of Finkenberg village (which links directly to the Mayrhofen ski area) with just a short walk through the traditional village centre to reach the Finkenberg Gondola station. There are a few local bars and restaurants, but should you wish to access the livelier centre of Mayrhofen this can be done on the free local bus service (journey time just 10 minutes).

The dining room of the chalet has breathtaking mountain views and there is also a south facing terrace which catches the afternoon sun. All twelve of the guest bedrooms come with en-suite facilities and there is also a comfortable sitting room.

Snow conditions permitting it is possible to ski off-piste back to the chalet's door. And for less adventurous skiers the home piste ends just three minutes' walk away. The property was renovated in 2023 and offers comfortable accommodation at very reasonable prices.

NB: This chalet is operated by a Dutch tour operator, who have been in the catered ski chalet business since 1977, operating 37 ski chalets in France, Austria and Italy.

The main difference between a 'normal' British-run chalet, which you will be familiar with, and the Dutch product is that afternoon tea and cakes are not included. However, house wine, beers, soft drinks, and tea and coffee are available and are included in the cost of your holiday.

Breakfasts will be continental in style with cheese, hams and bread, yogurt and fruit juices, tea and coffee.

Below are examples of typical evening dinners:

Starter: Basil bruschetta with fresh tomato and mozzarella.
Main: Meat loaf with roasted onions, mushrooms and tomatoes, pomme gratin, salad with red onion, cucumber, feta and olives.
Pud: Poached pears with chocolate mousse.

Or

Starter: Giant mushrooms stuffed with bacon and bleu d'Auvergne served with a warm 'Morzinoise' roll.
Main: Braised cod with a mustard cream sauce, mashed potatoes and roasted winter vegetables.
Pud: Warm pear apple crumb pie with ice cream.

Afternoon tea and cakes are not included in the cost of the holiday. If you would like to have afternoon tea and cakes you can pay a small supplement. Please call for details.
