Chalet Dorferhaus

Chalet Dorferhaus is located right in the centre of charming Gerlos, the central resort of the Zillertal Arena ski area. The Dorferhaus offers a typical Austrian chalet layout with the kitchen and dining room on the ground floor along with small seating area and tiled stove. There is one en-suite bedroom on this floor and a further two en-suite bedrooms on the floor above. The top floor has three further bedrooms which share one shower room and a separate wc.

The new Dorfbahn Gerlos gondola station (which you can ski back to at the end of the day) is just 300 metres from the chalet. The flat walk passed the church to and from the lift station takes a little over 4 minutes.

NB: This chalet is operated by a Dutch tour operator, who have been in the catered ski chalet business since 1977, operating 37 ski chalets in France, Austria and Italy.

The main difference between a 'normal' British-run chalet, which you will be familiar with, and the Dutch product is that afternoon tea and cakes are not included. However, house wine, beers, soft drinks, and tea and coffee are available and are included in the cost of your holiday.

Breakfasts will be continental in style with cheese, hams and bread, yogurt and fruit juices, tea and coffee.

Below are examples of typical evening dinners:

Starter: Basil bruschetta with fresh tomato and mozzarella.
Main: Meat loaf with roasted onions, mushrooms and tomatoes, pomme gratin, salad with red onion, cucumber, feta and olives.
Pud: Poached pears with chocolate mousse.

Or

Starter: Giant mushrooms stuffed with bacon and bleu d'Auvergne served with a warm 'Morzinoise' roll.
Main: Braised cod with a mustard cream sauce, mashed potatoes and roasted winter vegetables.
Pud: Warm pear apple crumb pie with ice cream.

Afternoon tea and cakes are not included in the cost of the holiday. If you would like to have afternoon tea and cakes you can pay a small supplement. Please call for details.
