Family Friendly
Aquamotion - Just a few minutes' free bus journey down towards Courchevel Village and you can visit one of the newest and most innovative parts of the Courchevel Valley: Aquamotion. This leisure centre offers so much more than you would expect, with activities for everyone: from swimming pools, to a spa, to an indoor surfing experience. Children can delight in the fun-filled swimming pool, while parents can indulge in a stress-easing massage. Designed to be as eco-friendly as possible, this state of the art facility blends into the landscape and you are surrounded by the mountains, seen through floor-to-ceiling windows. Whatever your style of holiday, make sure to include this in your plans while in Courchevel!
Patinoire du Forum - Located in the heart of Courchevel 1850, the Forum houses enough to do to fill your time for days, whatever your tastes. Activities include an ice rink, a climbing wall, a bowling rink – complete with a bar – and numerous restaurants and shops. The ice rink is not just limited to skating either – there are regular ice-hockey games and ice dancing events to watch, perfect for those (hopefully!) rare whiteout days.
Night skiing – Courchevel allows you to take advantage of its slopes even once the lifts shut, with the iconic 'Verdons by Night' experience. Running once a week throughout the middle of the season (dates will vary depending on weather conditions) this is the perfect activity if you do not want to let lifts shutting for the day stop you skiing! However, this is not necessarily just for the most advanced skiers – the floodlit slope is a green run, and so is an unmissable activity for any level of skier. Even if you only try out one run, the Verdons Bar and Restaurant stays open later into the night to provide a unique atmosphere to your evening.
Thrill Seekers
Luge – For those who want to experience speed on snow in a new way, Courchevel 1850’s newly opened Luge is an unforgettable activity. Beginning next to the Ariondaz gondola in the centre of town, and running down to Courchevel Moriond, the track stretches to 3km in length, with a 450m descent. The challenging nature of the course means children have to be accompanied by adults, but also ensures that this is not your regular sledging activity! Perfect for groups, the course even splits in two providing even more room for competition – will you be the best and fastest in your group?
Paragliding – For a view of the mountains unlike any other, look no further than paragliding: one of the ultimate activities for those looking for an adrenaline-packed experience. With a variety of companies running in the area, visitors are spoilt for choice. Notably, the Parapente Tandem Top Saulire offers the highest and longest flight in the Three Valleys, making it one of the best ways to get as much value as possible. Many companies also offer the chance to go home with a recording or pictures at the end of the day for a small added cost, preserving the memories forever.
Relax and Unwind
Pedestrian Pass – Courchevel’s breath-taking sights are open to any visitor – even those without skis. This activity is so popular that the lift pass office have even created a specialised pedestrian pass (it should be noted this is only available to purchase once in resort). With options for one or two journeys, as well as one or six days, this allows you to create a custom plan tailored to exactly what you are looking for. Courchevel offers a number of ski lifts available to pedestrians – you can reach stunning views at the very top of the resort, or even pay a visit to the famous La Folie Douce in Meribel without needing to put on skis. For those with tired legs, little ones not yet ready to brave the slopes, or looking for a romantic activity, this is one of the best ways to experience the resort.
Spa – When visiting Courchevel 1850, a resort known for its rich and famous clientele, visitors have access to a number of the most deluxe and relaxing spas. This makes one the best activities to take a break from a hard day’s skiing, perhaps complete with a massage to soothe any sore muscles. While most of these spas are a part of one of the resort’s hotels, many are also open to the public, helping you add a touch of luxury to your holiday.
