Overview
When a few semi-pro Swedish free-ride skiers decided the time had come to get semi-serious about life instead of looking for desk jobs they bought an old building and named it the Ski Lodge Engelberg. They have since set about creating a comfortable hotel with a friendly atmosphere. A place where free-riders can meet kindred spirits - lovers of all things 'mountain'. Guests of Ski Lodge Engelberg can expect hearty breakfasts, comfortable beds and personal, friendly service. You can forget the dated interior, bland food and thin blankets of other hotels.
The staff of Ski Lodge Engelberg are ready to help you with all aspects of your stay from how to address those aching feet to where to find the best snow conditions. Their staff are a tight knit team and all snow riders at heart. They know the local mountains and will gladly help you find most (but not all) their hidden powder stashes during your stay.
There is a completely new restaurant and bar which opened in 2009 and the hotel has the capacity to host conferences of up to 70 people. It is situated centrally, close to the train station, about 2 minutes from the shops and bars, and 6 minutes walk (or a short shuttle bus ride) from the main cable car station.
"Still going gung-ho down the slopes but don't want to rough it in a budget chalet? Laid-back Engelberg and its stylish new Ski Lodge make the perfect base." (Simon Mills, Saturday Guardian February 2009)
The Skiers Lodge is the place to be seen in Engelberg. Trendy and lively but all done from a professional stand point. We like the bar for après ski whether staying in the hotel or not!
