Ski Weekends in Italy

Ski weekends in Italy

Ski weekends in Italy are the preferred option if you are looking for good value for money. Many of the resorts are fairly close to one of the main Italian airports such as Milan Malpensa, Turin, Verona or even Venice. The resorts are perfect for skiers who like the idea of cruising some excellent intermediate terrain, finding a nice spot for lunch and soaking up some sun and good wine before heading back to town.

Ski weekend hotels in Italy

The resorts in Italy tend to be quieter than those in France and Austria. However, the characteristics of each does vary - some are quaint backwater villages, some are very fashionable large towns and some fall in-between. What they all have in common is a jolly atmosphere, great food and wine and, on the whole, amazing scenery.

Top tips for booking a ski weekend in Italy...

Please note that the flights back to the UK on Sunday evenings in January and March (the classic months for a ski weekend in Italy) get booked up very early. It is therefore very important to book your flights in the summer before if you want to avoid paying high prices or compromising on the timing of your return flight by coming home on Sunday morning and missing your last day's skiing.

You might think that it's possible to return back to the UK on a Monday night cheap flight. However, no hotel would be keen to accept a booking that stretches through to a Monday as they would struggle to sell your room for the rest of the week.

Why take a ski weekend in Italy?

• Friendly atmosphere both in the hotels and in the resorts in general.
• The best long lunches in the Alps.
• Quiet empty slopes.
• Good value for money.
