Chalet La Fugue

Chalet La Fugue in Meribel is one of the oldest chalets in the resort. Built in the local architectural style which Meribel is famous for it blends into its alpine surroundings. There is no vehicle access to the chalet in the winter so guests will have to walk across the piste behind the tourist office to access the front door (where suitable footwear when arriving and departing the chalet). However, this chocolate box chalet has a wonderful setting within the trees - it's hard not to appreciate its traditional mountain appeal and the ski out convenience (just a short easy ski gets you down to the Chaudanne lift hub).

The stone and wood clad sitting room and kitchen are on the 1st floor and this gives breath taking views across the valley towards Meribel's main ski area. The main room has an open plan dining area, as well as an open fireplace and soft sofas. An additional TV room on the ground floor is an ideal space for children to relax in. There are five bedrooms spread over the three floors and one is a family double with connecting children's twin bedroom (hence why the chalet can sleep up to 12 guests). The chalet has four bathrooms and as there are only three wc's the chalet can only be taken by one party booking the whole property.

Please be aware that upon arrival, you will need to walk your suitcases and shopping bags up a snowy path from the top of the resort escalators (by the tourist office). Resort staff will be there to meet you and assist with your bags on your way to the chalet. With this in mind, we recommend managing the weight and number of suitcases or shopping bags you bring for the week. Additionally, please note that there is a flight of stairs leading to the chalet's door which can be snowy. You will need to navigate these to access the property.

For check-in, resort staff will assist with one reasonably-sized suitcase or shopping bag of manageable weight per guest. Staff cannot assist with ski equipment, multiple shopping bags, or crates of food and drink. These items are your responsibility to carry to the chalet. If you are arriving after 18:00, please note that it will be a self-check-in process at the chalet.

Given the location of this chalet it does not suit parties who want to bring a lot of stuff. There is a walk across the snow which means lugging shopping to the chalet is not easy (although there is a toboggan that can be used to carry luggage/shopping). It suits parties of adults who tend to eat out for their dinners the best.
