Skiworld ski holidays
We sold Skiworld holidays for almost 30 years (1992 - 2021). Skiworld was set up in 1982 by businessman and skier, Ian Coleby. He recognised that there was a gap in the market for a ski holiday company to provide chalet holidays going to the best alpine resorts at a competitive price.
Since 1982 the company has grown substantially and it now sells a wide range of accommodation options (chalets. hotels and self catering apartments) to a multitude of ski resorts in Europe and North America. However, the original roots of the business still run through its core today with 'good value' catered chalet accommodation in the most snow sure resorts of the Alps remaining the principal part of the business.
Skiworld in their own words is "truly a company run by skiers for skiers". Their UK office in London is staffed by a team of dedicated skiers and boarders who are passionate about the sport and the top level of management (the Chairman, M.D. and Marketing Director) have all remained loyal to Skiworld since the beginning.
Skiworld manage over 100 chalet properties providing approximately 1,400 chalet beds each week. Along with their hotel and self-catering accommodation Skiworld carries approximately 50,000 skiers away on holiday each winter. Skiworld are one of the largest independently owned ski companies operating in the UK market place today (data taken from 2018-2019 winter season).
Skiworld - comments from Alpine Answers:
We always supported Skiworld and over the years have sent thousands of clients on holiday with them. They have a wide range of chalet properties from small chalets sleeping 6 guests to large chalet hotels sleeping 100+. The quality varies from very basic properties right through to chalets that are genuinely comfortable. However, as a large company employing hundreds of resort staff each winter the quality of their resort staff varies.Note: We ceased promoting Skiworld to our clients summer 2021 when we realised they didn't value our 29 years of working relationship.
